Community Guidelines (Updated 8-30-2005)
General Community Guidelines:
o Disrupting community peace will result in consequences for theoffending parties
o Defiance to administrators will result in consequences for the offending parties
o Verbally attacking other members will result in consequences for the offending parties
o Treat everyone with respect.
Forum Guidelines:
o All posts must be made under the appropriate board.
o All posts must have an appropriate and meaningful title and/or description.
o All posts must follow the rules and guidelines specifically set out in certain boards.
o When replying to a post, the post must be directly related to the original topic
and/or developing topic. Users may not topic hijack threads.
o Users may not reply to a topic if they were the last to reply (double posting).
However, they may edit their old post.
o Users may not make posts or replys with the goal of increasing their post count.
o Users may not flame another member or group of members on the forums.
o Users most follow directions from staff in regards to using the forums.
o Users must keep posts relatively clean. No overly vulgar, crude, cynical, or rude posts allowed.
o Users may not create threads when the message would be better served through an e-mail or private message.
o All posts and replys are subject to deletion, removal, relocation,
close/locked, and/or any other administrative tool by the discretion of a staff member.
o Users must use common-sense to determine if their actions are appropriate.
If they are not, then a staff member will take appropriate action.
o Only one member account per person. If multiple accounts are discovered being
used by one person, all accounts by that person will be suspended or banned.
o No postwhoring (Posts must be meaningful and full)
o These guidelines are subject to change at anytime without notification.
NOTE: Signatures and profiles also have to fall under the same rules as posting.
Game Guidelines:
We can't not set out specific guidelines or rules for the gate88 game due
to the fact that it is decentralized. However, the community as a whole does have certain
expectations. These unspoken rules of conduct must be carried out by
individual members of the community through use of the mechanisms implemented in the
game to do so. However, the clause to this is that the server owner
has final say in regards to the administration of their server.
Chat Guidelines:
o Users may not have unappropraite nicknames.
o Users may not be overly vulgar, cynical, rude, or "mean" to anyone.
o It would be apprecaited if personal debates or flames not occur in the IRC Chat room.
o Users must follow the directions of oped staff members. If you notice a
non-staff member is oped, please notify a staff member ASAP.
o Registration of the #gate88 channel is prohibited by non-admins and will be
dealt with be QueasyGames and Gamesurge.net
o Administrative actions are at the discretion of staff members.
o There guidelines are subject to change at any time without notice.
